In honor of Modernism Week in Palm Springs, I've put together some fabulous pieces from my online store.

Sneak a peek into one of my current design projects. I've put my own spin on Mid- Century style and selected pieces that are whimsical, modern, and glamorous. Natural wood paired with metallic finds combine to provide a sexy, yet organic, vibe. From glimmering chandeliers to mosaic cabinetry, these chic finds are one-of-a-kind.

What: Modernism Week is an exciting 11-day celebration of mid-century modern design, architecture and culture in Palm Springs, California. This design aesthetic originated in the 1940s, 50s, and 60s, and was typified by clean, simple lines which came to define desert modernism.
Modernism Week is filled with a variety of events including architectural tours, films, lectures, an architectural symposium, educational events, and chic, fun parties in cool mid-century modern homes.

Pantone Color of the Year 2013- Emerald Green
Pantone recently announced that Emerald is the color of the year for
2013. You can imagine my excitement since I have been having a SERIOUS
emerald green moment for the past few months.
I recently designed a dining room for one of my client's that features this gorgeous color. I'm not gonna lie, I am slightly jazzed that I was using this color so much BEFORE they announced emerald as color of the year. It's nice, however, to see that I am on trend!
I am trendier than trends.

This client initially hired me to design his new office space (in the works). He moved into a new home on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and we spent a few dizzying days getting the space ready so that he could host his family and friends. We met for the first time on a Friday, I space planned on Saturday, shopped Sunday,
and installed on Monday and Tuesday.
We have three gorgeous
chandeliers that will be hung in the dining room and entry living room
and we didn't have time to hang the curtains.
The client was clearly on a tight timeline but, they were also on a tight budget. Even though we are waiting on photographs of the finished space, I am still loving the improvements.
I really like seeing the "Before and After" interior design photos. You can really see how color can change a space. We actually added more furniture to make the space feel larger. It seems counter-intuitive but it made the space feel more balanced and therefore, it feels larger. I also really like to place large artwork on the wall to open the space up.
